You smell that?

Pretty good location, 10 minutes walk to Subway and Skytrain. The staff and the facilities are all very nice. It has 24 hour coin laundry built-in, also nice. One complaint is the weird smell in the room; I don't know if it's from the building being very old or what, but even after airing it out for hours and venting through the AC all day, it's still there. The AC is a bit loud too. Stayed five peaceful nights in a hidden cosy corner. Walk to Saladaeng Bts is a tree-shoplets- lined, 15 min stroll. Alternatively, Grab service is popularly used here. It,s a five-storied 22 walk-up apartment building.

Ground floor is their reception, coffee house and communal laundry area. Understand 2nd floor is reserved for longer termed guests and 5th floor is for their own use. So ad hoc guests are housed on the 3rd and 4th floors respectively. Reception is pleasant and, can converse in English. You can find Silom Complex, a huge shopping plaza, and Patpong night market Big, clean room. Hotel is along a wide, quiet, well-lit side road. No elevator so just exercise by climbing stairs. The place is good to stay with a lovely staff very welcoming need really help u when u need something , most of the facilities is provided in the room.

I have stayed in this area many times, however this is my first stay at Sunrise The rooms are a good size and very clean. The staff and management are lovely. I will make Sunrise my go to place in Bangkok from now! Thank you so much for the comments, we will maintain our standard keep it clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to welcoming you here again soon. Extremely clean, spacious, and modern rooms.

Great value for money. Highly recommended. Pros: Location. Cons: 4 floors. No elevator but someone is available to assist with hauling your baggage up. Great Place to stay if you look for a quiet , out of the way location. Even though this place is well positioned near the Silom area , it still boasts a nice and secluded location. Room is nice clean and air con works well, especially on these hot days.

Staff are friendly and cordial and the whole stay is just perfect. Security well appointed and after 10 the doors are access by key card only. Overall a great place to stay. This residence is tucked away , down Sala Dang road , more towards the end of the street. It is a nice out of the way place. A security guard is the first face you see, who takes the time to open the door for you with a smile, the reception desk is easy to get to and the personal were friendly and engaging, polite and took time to explain the safety and security options of the arrival process this was very nice and not often done by most places There is no elevator in this building so be mindful, especailly if you have those large luggage..

The room was well maintained and very comfortable, air con works nicely and is easy to understand, the room was well looked after, the Tv a bit on the small size but all channels were clear and a good selection. Internet passwords and directions are al clearly posted an in large Fonts Bravo on this , as most places have the smallest size fonts for this , and are on small pieces of paper that go missing Overall a great visit and a nice stay, will definitely return to this little hideaway.

You get dressed, grab your backpack and venture towards the beauty of nature at sunrise.

Of course, you can, but there is one massive difference between the two. When you photograph in the evening, there are lots of people around. They talk, walk; their thoughts float in the air, they keep walking into the frame and distract you in so many ways.

You can focus on your thoughts and feelings and express yourself better. I recommend getting ready the night before. Everything else is either optional or depends on the scenery and weather. As the saying goes, the best camera is the one you already own. This fact is true to some extent. So, if you already have a decent DSLR camera, invest in lenses. If you are a new buyer, here are a few things to consider:.

The tripod needs to be sturdy and well-balanced. It should be able to hold your camera against the wind. If you go hiking, then the only option to reduce weight is to get a carbon fiber tripod, but it comes at a cost. I prefer Manfrotto and Slick tripods, they have always been great with zero issues. However, there is one issue. It will ruin it in a couple of months.

There are two solutions here:. I prefer the second option, and I use Weifeng tripods all the time. They are cheap and provide excellent quality. Pro tip: use the tripod with clamps, not with the screws. The screw-type legs fell apart in 1 month for one of my tripods. There are no strict rules about lenses, and you can get away with any focal length. Typically, photographers prefer wide or ultra-wide angles as the primary lens.

I recommend having the whole range covered. If you are just starting out, you could get away with some general purpose lens, like This way you will learn how to use different focal ranges and will know better what works for your style.

There are, of course, different scenarios. For instance, for a waterfall or a forest, I would prefer a clear sky to increase the chance of getting sun rays beaming through the trees. The former has an hourly cloud coverage, and the latter shows the type and thickness of the clouds. It also helps to predict if there is an opening between the clouds and the horizon. To get the bright colours, you need high clouds. Low and heavy clouds rarely produce something spectacular. The wind can also affect certain types of landscapes.

Also, you can take advantage of fog to photograph areas with trees. First, you need to get some candidates. This search gives me a general idea of what to expect from the area. The SunCalc website is handy to browse Sun and Moon positions on a certain day quickly. The best way to prepare for the new area is to scout it before the sunrise. In the darkness, it could be hard to find a path, to measure distance, to see potential best spots. So, if you get a chance, walk around the day before, take notice of the best places. Typically, you need to arrive well before the actual sunrise for several reasons.

The first light appears around minutes before sunrise, but you can start creating long exposure photos even earlier than that. Bear in mind; all faint colours will turn vivid and juicy on the final shot. There are a few ways to focus your camera in the middle of the night, but the easiest way is to use your headlamp or a torch. Just pick some object around the hyperfocal distance , then lock the focus and shoot. This is what you need to do:. Be sure to change back to the Autofocus mode once you zoom in or out because of the so-called focus breathing effect.

The longer the exposure time, the more movement you can catch. Use your judgment and the sense of beauty to figure out how long you need to expose the photo for. The most common subjects for long exposure sunrise photography are clouds and water.
